I. Pre - Installation
Materials supplied confirm to specifications
Pipes and fittings are free from damage and clean internally and externally
Carry out random checks on welds and / or screwed joints for Prefabricated pipe work
Necessary certification for materials and welding of prefabricated pipe work is available prior to installation.
Necessary 'V' groves are made before welding of pipes(above 50mm Diameter
Carry out dimensional check on fabricated pipe work spools
One Coat of Red Oxide Primer
II. Installation
Pipe Routing & Cutouts
Hanger / Supports / Screws / Bolts / Nuts
Acoustic pads
Available space for fire sealants
Supports are fixed at the correct intervals
All pipe runs for correct falls / levels
7. Check services are installed to allow sufficient space for thermal insulation
8. Check that all bolts, nuts, hemispherical/ flat washers are fitted correctly with correct bolt lengths & Check protection of exposed threaded parts (Greasing & Capping)
All screwed joints are cleaned
Horizontal and vertical alignment for line equipment
Horizontal and vertical alignment of pipe work
All Painting is as per specification
All vents & drains are fitted Where required
All in line equipment including valves, etc. are correctly fitted as shown on construction drawings
Anchors / guides are properly located as shown on construction drawings and are securely fixed
Terminal connections are made and plugs /blank flanges / caps are fitted where necessary
Brackets are properly supporting pipe work
All bolts and nuts are tightened correctly
Correct flanges / gaskets are installed compatible with line service
Installed pipe work complies with line specification and drawing
All terminal connections are piped in correct relation to flows
Facilities are built in systems for flushing as shown on construction drawings
All doors and cabinets open fully and that hose reels rotate through 180 degrees
III. Testing
Services for damage
All services to ensure all open ends are properly capped off
Valves are left in open position
Stool pieces where required are fitted to temporarily replace valves and other inline equipment
Regulating and non-return valves are installed to correct orientation
Pressures & carry out pressure testing
CI pipes tested with water before installation and after installation it should be tested with Smoke
Hose reel automatic valves release water when reel is unwound to a predetermined length not in excess of 3.25m
Carry out water test on all services with exception of the dry riser system
Complete systems are demonstrated and tested in the presence of and to the satisfaction of the Fire Authority
IV. Post Testing / Pre - Commissioning
All inline equipment are properly fitted
All sprinklers are correctly located & coordinated with ceiling / lights / grills
Test points are correctly installed and clear of insulation
All control valves are operable and orientation is correct
All isolating / regulating valves are operable and orientation is correct
All probes, Pressure gauges and test points are fitted at correct locations as shown on construction drawings
System has been pressure tested and in a condition to satisfy the requirements of the specification
Earth bonding has been completed where applicable
Arrow indicates the Supply/Return Direction of Fluid Flow
Operation instruction plates clearly indicate the method of use of the hose reels and is installed adjacent to all reels
