4 WATER PROOFING . .
(Quoted Rates are for all heights, depths, levels, leads and lifts) The operations describe below are only indicative & the item is to be executed as per technical/ manufacturer's specification. Testing shall be done by ponding water (150mm depth) for 72 hours
Note: The Water proofing work must be executed by an approved specialised Agency. The Contractor shall give a 10 years guarantee on non judicial stamp paper as per instruction of the Engineer-in-charge
4.1 PIDICRETE WATER PROOFING or Equivalent
Providing and laying Waterproofing treatment with using of Two coats of Dr. fixit Bathseal 2k@ 0.6 to 0.7 sqm per kg in sunken portion of toilets/ kitchen/ pantry/Balcony etc. and the like consisting of as under, ( Horizontal and vertical areas shall be measured only once for payment)
BEFOR LAYNG OF SOIL AND WASTE PIPES etc.
Cleaning and preparation of surface with help of Wire brush or grinder, cleaning by Air blower, crack filling etc. complete. Wrapping all pipes insert with a two way adhesion tape of make Dr. fixit Bathseal in the the floor or wall wherever required in the sunken portion that is in contact with the pipe promoting high adhesion between the grout and the pipe surface. Grouting the gaps or annular space between the periphery & the inner side of the opening in the slab/wall with Dr. Fixit Bathseal non shrink, expanding, cementious grout with curing to ensure proper hardening and development of grout.( W/P ratio should not more than 0.15) Providing and laying of fillets at the junction of slab and vertical Wall/RCC structure prepared with cement sand mortar in ratio 1:3 (1 cement : 3 corse sand ) admixed with 5% of Dr. Fixit URP by weight of cement, including fixing of 150mm wide strip of woven glass strip of fiber mesh on fillet area as per manufacture specification. Applying two coats of Dr. Fixit bathseal 2k @ 06 to 0.7 sqm per kg over sunken slab including over angular fillet and on adjoining vertical surface up to 300mm height from top of sunken slab, to achieving a uniform thickness approx 1mm of coating on sunken surfaces. Applying of 15mm protective plaster in 1.4 (1 cement : 4 corse sand ) admixed with Dr. fixit pidiproof LW @ 200ml/bag or as per manufacture specification over treated surfaces, curing etc complete.
AFTER LAYNG OF SOIL AND WASTE PIPES etc.
Sealing and caulking of pipe openings with wall/beam ( if any )sealed properly. Testing for water tightness. Sqm. 415 415

4.1 Tapecrete water proofing
Providing and laying composite built up waterproofing in the Sunken Slab(toilets/ kitchen/ pantry/balcony etc). comprising of three coats of Tapecrete ( first layer of tapecrete to be @0.253kg/sqm, the second & third layer to be @ 0.126kg/sqm )or equivalent polymer, each coat admixed with cement in the proportion 1:2 (one part tapcrete and two parts cement) over a primer coat of neat cement sturry admixed with impermeable chemical CH-9 or integral water proofing compound sealing all corners. After the second coat of tapecrete, all corners, edges, joints of pipes with concrete / masonry should be sealed with epoxy putty. The waterproofing treatment is to be laid underneath all sanitary pipes on the base and taken up onto the verticals upto a level of minimum 300mm above the finished toilet floor level including providing and fixing of PVC spout.
10mm thick protective plaster 1:4 (1 cement : 4 coarse sand) over treated surface etc complete. (Quoted rate to include grouting of RCC surface for any cracks/ fissures) Sqm. 405 405
4.2 Water tank Waterproofing
4.2.1 Injection Water Proofing
Providing and applying Injection water proofing treatment for under ground tank and other RCC structure with the following operations:
a) FOR HORIZONTAL SURFACES
Providing and laying water proofing treatment by chemical injection grout process on base of under ground water tank or other area as per specifications comprising of , providing and fixing 20mm pipe sleeves at 1.2m C/C and grouting acrylic based water proofing chemical mixed with neat cement slurry through the pipes with, complete with cutting & sealing of the pipes as per specification and direction of Engineer-in-Charge. b) FOR VERTICAL WALLS
From inside :- Providing and laying water proofing treatment by chemical injection grout process in water tank (Under ground) or other areas using 20mm dia MS nozzles of minimum 25mm deep in walls placed and fixed @1.2m distance in both direction in the wall and @ 0.75m c/c along construction joints, consisting of injecting cement slurries of different viscosities under pressure by pump using acrylic based water proofing chemical mixed with neat cement slurry and sealing off nozzles after the injection operation with suitable admixture. From outside:- Two coats of Vincrete polymer or equivalent as approved by Engineer-in-Charge, each coat admixed with cement in the proportion 1:2 (one part vincrete and two parts cement) over a primer coat of neat cement sturry admixed with waterproofing chemical. After the first coat of vincrete, joints of concrete should be sealed with epoxy putty and shall be neatly plastered with cement mortar (1:3) admixed with Acrylic Chemicals of 12 to 15 mm thick. 4.2.1 Water tank Waterproofing
Providing and laying waterproofing treatment to the internal surface of water tank with five coats of Tapecrete or equivalent water proofing comprising of four slurry coats of Tapecrete polymer admixed with cement in the proportion 1:2 (one part Tapecrete or equivalent and two parts cement), one putty coat of Tapecrete admixed with silica powder and cement applied on the entire surfaces of the water tanks. After the second coat of tapecrete or equivalent all corners, edges, joints of pipes with concrete etc should be sealed with epoxy putty. The Tapecrete or equivalent treatment shall be applied directly on the smooth RCC surfaces over a primer coat of neat cement slurry admixed with impremeable chemical. Sqm 620 620
4.3 Terrace Garden/other terrace Waterproofing
4.3.1 Terrace Garden/other terrace Waterproofing
Providing and laying Terrace Garden roof waterproofing with the following specification for horizontal & vertical surface including cleaning of the RCC slab top surface. (Actual surface area treated shall be measured & paid for)
Providing and applying Bituthene 3000 of Grace or Elotene 3000X of ISOLTEMA make (Italy) self adhesive bituminous waterproofing membrane 1.5mm thick consisting of cross laminated HDPE Polyethylene film and rubberised asphalt applied over RCC slab after cleaning the RCC free from dust with brush and making sure there is no sharp protrusions on the RCC. If any make it smooth by chipping and local repairs.Make 25mm x 25mm chase on the Vertical parapet wall at height of 300mm for termination of the membrane. Make 50mm X 50 mm fillet in the corners between RCC slab and parapet wall, for membrane to be applied in curvature.
Apply bitumen based primer (Isoltema primer) on the RCC @ 250 gms per sqm. and allow to dry as per manufacturers requirement & as directed by Engineer-in-Charge.Roll out membrane, cut it to manageable lengths and stick it to the surface by peeling off the release paper on the back of the membrane. Press membrane in place. Adjacent rolls to come on 60 - 80 mm overlaps lines printed on the membrane. Roll the laps and joints by hand roller.The laid membrane should confirm to elongation of 300%,tensile strength 215 N/50 mm, lap adhesion of 683N/m,tear resistance of 125N/m and resistance to Hydrostatic head of 60m. The membrane should be resistant to acidic, alkaline or salty soil conditions. The laid membrane shall be covered with screed laid to slope. (Screed work will be paid seperately). Sqm. 368 368
4.3.2 Protection on Terrace / Terrace Garden Waterproofing
Providing and laying, over waterproofing courses, CC screed with M15 grade concrete in required slope (The waterproofing course on the vertical shall be protected with a 115mm thick cladding wall of brick masonry to be measured and paid separately under brick work items) The item also include providing and making khurrahs 450mm x 450mm with average minimum thickness of 50mm cement concrete 1:2:4 (1 cement : 2 coarse sand : 4 graded stone aggregate of 20 mm nominal size) finished with aluminium foil and 12mm cement plaster 1:3 (1 cement : 3 coarse sand) and a coat of neat cement punning , rounding the edges , making and finishing the outlet complete in all resp Cum 5350 5350
4.3.3 Providing gola 75x75 mm in cement concrete 1:2:4 (1 cement : 2 coarse sand : 4 stone aggregate 10 mm and down gauge), including finishing with cement mortar 1:3 (1 cement : 3 fine sand) as per standard design : In 75x75 mm deep chase Rmt. 160 160
4.4 Brick bat coba waterproofing
Providing and laying integral cement based water proofing treatment (Brick Bat Coba) including preparation of surface as required for treatment of roofs, balconies, terraces etc. Consisting of following operations. a) Applying and grouting a slurry coat of neat cement using 2.75 kg/sqm of cement admixed with proprietary water proofing compound (Cico / Accoproof or approved equivalent) confirming to IS 2645 over the RCC slab including cleaning the surface before treatment. b) Laying cement concrete using broken bricks / brick bats 25mm to 100mm size with 50% of cement mortar 1 : 5 (1 cement : 5 coarse sand) admixed with water proofing compound confirming to IS 2645 over 20 mm thick layer of cement mortar of mix 1 : 5 (1 cement : 5 coarse sand) admixed with water proofing compound confirming to IS 2645 to required slope and treating similarly the adjoining walls upto 300mm height including rounding of walls and slabs.
c) After 2 days of proper curing applying a second coat of cement slurry admixed with proprietary water proofing compound (Cico / Accoproof or approved equivalent) confirming to IS 2645 d) Finishing the surface with 20mm thick jointless cement mortar 1 : 4 ( 1 cement : 4 coarse sand ) admixed with proprietary water proofing compound (Cico / Accoproof or approved equivalent) confirming to IS 2645 and finally finishing the surface with trowel with neat cement slurry, making square panels of 300 x 300 mm in 10 x 2mm deep threaded lines including making gola & khurras. e) The whole terrace so finished shall be flooded with water for a minimum period of two weeks for curing and for final test. 4.5 Sunken area filling
4.5.1 Providing and laying on sunken areas broken light weight concrete block bats of approximately 600 kg. per cum density laid, consolidated, finished smooth, including finishing & grouting the top layer with water proof cement mortar 1:4 (1 Cement & 4 Coarse Sand) with CICO and as per specifications ,drawing and as per direction of Engineer-in-charge cum 3760 3760
4.6 Deck Slab Waterproofing
Providing and laying Two coats of Waterproofing treatment by applying "APPAR Flexiroof-60" water based high performance membrane over the entire Podium and Extended basement roof, Including cleaning and surface preparation with wire brush or grinder, treating the cracks or construction joints. making of gola at the interface of slab and building by routing -out to a minimum 10mm x 10mm groove and treating with a "XYPEX" modified mortar( Non shrink cementious compound).Providing and pasting 150 GSM geomembrane as well as bonding of subsequent.

4.7 "XYPEX" or Equivalent water proofing (on PCC below Green area of extended basement)
Providing and laying Waterproofing treatment with using of XYPEX "CATALYTIC" In depth crystallization system on entire RCC retaining wall from outside consisting of as under,
Cleaning the whole surface thoroughly to free from dirt, dust, loose particle, oil and grease or other foreign material before the starting of treatment. Applying one coat or manufacturer's specification of "XYPEX" concentrare "Catalytic" In depth crystalization waterproofing system shall be applied by brush on entire PCC surfaces including the treatment of cracks or joints. The coating will allowed to air dry for 8 to 10 hours and curing etc complete. Sqm. 490 490
4.8 Draincell with Geotextile
Providing and laying 20 mm thick high strength polypropylene modular drain cells 500x250x20 mm size, having unit weight of 2kg/sqm and compressive strength of 120 tons/sqm for subsurface drainage and waterproofing membrane protection. 4.9 Waterproofing treatment to retaining wall -XYPEX "CATALYTIC OR EQUIVQLENT
Providing and laying Waterproofing treatment with using of XYPEX "CATALYTIC" In depth crystallization system on entire RCC retaining wall from outside consisting of as under, Cleaning the whole surface thoroughly to free from dirt, dust, loose particle, oil and grease or other foreign material before the starting of treatment. Cutting "U" shaped groove of approx 10mm x 10mm along the construction joint with a chipping tool and filling with "XYPEX" modified mortar after applying pf "XYPEX" crystalline slurry in to groove. For Tie Holes cutting "U" shaped cavity of 2"(W) X 2" (D) around the tie hole and filling the same with "XYPEX" modified mortar. Applying one coat or manufacturer's specification of "XYPEX" In-depth Crystallization waterproofing system shall be applied on entire RCC surfaces of Retaining wall from outside. The "XYPEX" treatment on the retaining wall shall extend from the toe of the raft to 1.0 mtr above the finished floor level. The coating will allowed to air dry for 8 to 10 hours and curing etc complete. Grouting the gaps or annular space between the periphery & the inner side of the opening in the slab/wall with Dr. Fixit Bathseal non shrink, expanding, cementious grout with curing to ensure proper hardening and development of grout.( W/P ratio should not more than 0.15) Sqm. 280 280

4.9 Waterproofing treatment to retaining wall
Providing and applying 15mm thick cement plaster 1:4 (1 cement : 4 coarse sand )over RCC surface with mixing of water proofing compound CICO or approved equivalent @ 3% by weight of cement including hacking, raking of construction joints, and spacer holes and filling the same with cement morter mixed with water proofing compound of approved equivelent as per manufacturers specification and as directed by Engineer in Charge. 4.9 Waterproofing treatment to retaining wall
Providing & applying cementations crystallization based water proofing on  concrete retaining walls in required number of coats as per manufacturers recommendations over the concrete retaining wall including cleaning all RCC surface, applying crystallization water proofing treatment to permanently fix non-soluble crystalline growth inside the capillary track as per manufacture specification. The water proofing treatment shall include- all construction joints shall be treated by making grooves of size 10mm X 15mm or required size and grouting making golas with cement slurry/ mortar admixed with waterproofing compound as the directions of EIC. Application- All surfaces to receive Permaquik 200 must be clean and free from oil, grease, paint, loose dust and Laitance. Horizontal surfaces should not have curing agents or hardeners applied prior to the crystalline product application. Rout or saw out 1/2” to 3/4”(50 mm to 75 mm) and repair all cracks wider than 0.01” (0.25 mm). Ensure all vertical concrete surfaces are waterblasted as moisture must be present in the capillaries prior to the crystalline waterproofing application. Dry broadcast Permaquik 200 on horizontal surfaces. It may be broadcast into the first pour of concrete and vibrated prior to the second pour.
Mix two and one-half parts of Permaquik 200 to one part water by volume to produce a mixture suitable for brushing or spraying. The mixture should be used up within half an hour, after which time it starts to thicken. Install slurry coats in two passes with the second being applied while the first is still tacky. Intermittent fogging with water the day after application is recommended. Surfaces may be backfilled 24 hours after application. After backfilling, saturate material adjacent to the walls with water. 4.1 Cementitious Roof Insulation
Providing and applying 100 mm (average) thick cementitious roof insulation material Insuplast or approved equivelent consisting of inorganic minerals, binders, plasticizersand mix dispersing agent. Cementitious roof insulation material shall be mixed in a ratio of 1:6 (1cement: 6 cementitious roof insulation material) by volume and laid to RCC surface to desired slope including cleaning of RCC surface, curing etc complete as per the directions of Engineer in Charge. 4.11 Terrace waterproofing with insulation
4.11.1 Providing and laying terrace insulation and waterproofing with the following specification including cleaning and smooth rendering the RCC slab top surface. A layer of bituminous primer A layer of hot refined mineral asphalt. A layer of Polymeric Polyethylene felt of 1mm thickness with 75mm and 100mm side and end laps respectively. A layer of hot refined mineral asphalt. A layer of Polymeric Polyethylene felt of 1mm thickness with 75mm and 100mm side and end laps respectively. A layer of hot refined mineral asphalt. A layer of Expanded polystyrene - THERMOCOLE of 24 kg cubic meter density of 50mm thickness. A protective layer of Non Woven Polyester Matt with 75mm and 100mm side and laps, spot stuck with bitumen and joints sealed with hot bitumen. Vertical: A layer of polymeric polyethylene membrane felt, a layer of non woven polyester matt and a layer of hessian felt type 3 grade 1, each layer laid in hot asphalt over a coat of bituminous primer with 75mm and 100mm side and end laps respectively.
The actual area of waterproofing done shall be measured and paid for as per the drawings. Sqm. 1138 1138
4.11.2 Item same as 4.11.1 but for using 50mm thick Extruded polystyrene rigid foam with skin (ISO Board ND or approved equivalent) of density 35 Kg/Cum laid over hot refined mineral asphalt layer for adhesion. instead of expanded polystyrene. Sqm. 1772 1772
